FINAL RULEMAKINGS

November 27, 2018 In accordance with the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act Improvements Act of 2015, this final rule provides the 2018 inflation adjustment to civil penalty amounts that may be imposed for violations of certain DOT regulations. This rule also finalizes the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s and the Office of the Secretary’s catch-up inflation adjustment interim final rules required by the same Act. 83 FR 60732, (November 27, 2018).

 

Agency Notices

December 10, 2018  In compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the notice announces that the information collection entitled “Maritime Administration Annual Service Obligation Compliance Report” is being forwarded to the Office of Management and Budget for review and comment. The information collection is necessary to determine if a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy or subsidized State maritime academy graduate is complying with the terms of the service obligation. Comments accepted. 83 FR 56147, (November 9, 2018), (MARAD-2018-0165).

 December 24, 2018  The Maritime Administration (MARAD) invites public comments on their intention to request the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approval to renew an information collection. The collection involves documenting shipments made during the life of certain EXIM Bank financed projects. The information to be collected is necessary for MARAD to fulfill its legislative requirements to monitor the percentage of ocean freight revenues/tonnage.
