Agency Notices

April 30. 2019                The Maritime Administration invites public comments on their intention to request the Office of Management and Budget’s approval to renew the Information Collection Request entitled “Request for Transfer of Ownership, Registry, and Flag, or Charter, Lease, or Mortgage of U.S. Citizen-Owned Documented.” The information to be collected will enable MARAD to determine whether the vessel proposed for transfer will initially require retention under the U.S.-flag statutory regulations. Comments accepted. 84 FR 7167, (March 1, 2019), (MARAD-2019-0013).

April 30, 2019                The Maritime Administration invites public comments on their intention to request the Office of Management and Budget’s approval to renew an information request entitled “Requirements for Establishing U.S. Citizenship—46 CFR 355.” The information to be collected are Affidavits of U.S. Citizenship filed with MARAD to determine if the applicants are eligible to participate in various benefit programs offered by the agency. Comments accepted. 84 FR 7170, (March 1, 2019), (MARAD-2019-0028).

April 30, 2019                The Maritime Administration invites public comments on their intention to request the Office of Management and Budget’s approval to renew an information request entitled “Regulations for Making Excess or Surplus Federal Property Available to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, State Maritime Academies and Non-Profit Maritime Training Facilities.” The information to be collected will be used to determine compliance with applicable statutory requirements regarding surplus government property. Comments accepted. 84 FR 7173, (March 1, 2019), (MARAD-2019-0014). 

May 20, 2019                The Maritime Administration invites public comments on their intention to request the Office of Management and Budget’s approval to renew an information collection entitled “Effective U.S. Control (EUSC)/Parent Company.” The information to be collected will be used to aid in identifying oceangoing vessels that may be both useful and available to the Department of Defense for deploying U.S. military equipment (such as tanks and other tracked and wheeled vehicles) and the full range of supplies (including petroleum products and fuel) necessary to sustain a force in a foreign theater of operations. Comments accepted. 84 FR 10572, (MARAD-2019-0047).

Agency for International Development

*May 20, 2019               Agency Notice (Meeting) – Pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act, notice is hereby given of the re-establishment of the Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid (ACVFA). ACVFA brings together officials from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and private voluntary organizations (PVOs), representatives from universities, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), U.S. businesses, and multilateral and private organizations to foster understanding, communication and cooperation in the area of foreign aid. The Administrator of USAID is re-establishing the Committee for two years, effective on the date of the filing of its renewed Charter. Pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act, notice is also given of a public meeting that will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), 1616

*May 23, 2019               Agency Notice (Meeting) – The Department of the Army is publishing a notice to announce the Federal advisory committee meeting of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Inland Waterways Users Board (Board). The meeting is open to the public and will be held from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at The Westin New Orleans Canal Place, 100 Rue Iberville, New Orleans, Louisiana. 84 FR 17406, (April 25, 2019).

*May 8, 2019                 Agency Notice (Meeting) – The Department of State will conduct an open meeting at 9:00 a.m. in conference room 6i10-01-c of the Douglas A. Munro Coast Guard Headquarters Building at St. Elizabeth’s, 2703 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE, Washington, DC. The primary purpose of the meeting is to prepare for the 74th session of the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Marine Environment Protection Committee to be held at the IMO Headquarters, United Kingdom, May 13-17. 84 FR 16555, (April 19, 2019).
